Civic Engagement of youth

Vaan Muhil Trust is committed to strengthening democratic values and fostering active citizenship among young people. To enhance their understanding of democratic governance and local self-government, the Trust organises one-day workshops and training programmes for rural youth in its project villages, as well as for college students across the Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts. These programmes provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Panchayati Raj Institutions, their roles and responsibilities, and the importance of participatory governance. The training also encourages young people to promote the inclusion of women, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups in local decision-making processes.
