Promotion of Constitutional Values among Younger Generations
Constitutional Rights Education Programme

At Vaan Muhil Trust, we believe that meaningful social change begins with informed and empowered citizens. Through participatory learning, awareness campaigns, and community engagement, we foster a deeper understanding of constitutional values, democratic participation, gender equality, child protection, and social responsibility. Our work inspires children and communities to embrace the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, laying the foundation for a more inclusive and equitable future.
Orientation Programmes for School Heads

Recognizing the vital role of educational leadership in sustaining Constitutional Rights Education (CRE), Vaan Muhil Trust organizes orientation programmes for school principals, correspondents, and heads of educational institutions across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Odisha.
These orientation programmes introduce participants to the philosophy, objectives, and participatory methodology of the CRE Programme, while equipping school leaders to integrate constitutional values into the culture and everyday life of their institutions. Participants are encouraged to promote the principles of the Constitution through school assemblies, classroom teaching, co-curricular activities, and student-led initiatives.
The programme has received an overwhelmingly positive response, with school leaders demonstrating a strong commitment to fostering learning environments that uphold constitutional values, democratic citizenship, human dignity, equality, justice, and inclusion. Through these initiatives, Vaan Muhil Trust strengthens the capacity of educational institutions to nurture responsible, informed, and socially conscious future citizens.
One day Training Programmes for School Teachers

Teachers are at the heart of the Constitutional Rights Education (CRE) Programme. Vaan Muhil Trust strengthens their capacity through intensive one-day training programmes that equip educators with the knowledge, skills, and tools to effectively integrate constitutional values into classroom teaching.
The training focuses on constitutional philosophy, child rights, democratic citizenship, equality, secularism, gender justice, and participatory, child-centred teaching methodologies. Teachers also receive practical guidance on using the CRE curriculum and learning modules to create engaging and inclusive learning environments.
By enhancing teachers' knowledge and pedagogical skills, the programme enables them to inspire students to uphold the values of justice, liberty, equality, fraternity, and respect for diversity. Through well-trained educators, Vaan Muhil Trust is helping build schools that nurture responsible, informed, and active citizens committed to the ideals of the Constitution.
Orientation Programme for Community based Trainers
Vaan Muhil Trust conducts residential training programmes for community-based trainers from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, and Odisha, strengthening their capacity to deliver the Constitutional Rights Education (CRE) Programme effectively within their communities.
These training programmes provide participants with advanced inputs on constitutional values, democratic citizenship, child rights, and participatory learning methodologies. Trainers are equipped with practical facilitation skills, innovative teaching techniques, and effective approaches for delivering CRE modules to children in engaging and meaningful ways.
The programmes also serve as platforms for peer learning and experience sharing, enabling trainers to exchange best practices, reflect on challenges, and learn from one another's experiences in implementing community-based activities.
Following the training, community-based trainers lead regular learning sessions for children in their respective villages and organize awareness programmes and community events to commemorate significant national and international observance days. Through their sustained engagement, they play a vital role in promoting constitutional values, democratic participation, and active citizenship among children and communities.
Formation and Strengthening of CRE Clubs in Communities

Vaan Muhil Trust works closely with a network of community-based trainers across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, and Odisha to strengthen 250 Constitutional Rights Education (CRE) Clubs, creating vibrant learning spaces where children explore constitutional values through participatory and experiential learning.
Every week, trained community-based trainers facilitate interactive sessions using the CRE learning modules and teaching aids. Through group discussions, role plays, games, storytelling, and collaborative activities, children develop a deeper understanding of constitutional values, democratic citizenship, child rights, equality, and social responsibility. The CRE Clubs also celebrate significant national occasions, including Republic Day, Independence Day, Children’s Day, Women’s Day and Constitution Day, encouraging children to reflect on the ideals of the Constitution and actively participate in civic and community life.
To ensure the quality and sustainability of the programme, Vaan Muhil Trust organizes annual two-day residential follow-up training programmes for community-based trainers in all four states. These programmes strengthen trainers' knowledge of constitutional values, enhance their facilitation skills, and provide opportunities for peer learning, sharing best practices, and addressing implementation challenges.
Continuous mentoring is a key feature of the programme. The Trust's core team conducts regular review meetings, mentoring sessions, and follow-up interactions with community-based trainers, providing technical guidance, motivation, and ongoing capacity building. This sustained support enables trainers to confidently facilitate weekly CRE Club sessions and ensure that children experience meaningful, engaging, and transformative learning rooted in the values of the Constitution.
Meaningful Observance of Important days in CRE Cubs

Vaan Muhil Trust encourages children to express their creativity, talents, and understanding of constitutional values through a variety of engaging activities and events. Drawing festivals, cultural programmes, competitions, and talent showcase provide opportunities for children to demonstrate their skills, build confidence, and receive recognition for their achievements. Outstanding performances from CRE Clubs are acknowledged and celebrated, inspiring children to participate actively and develop their potential.
The Trust also commemorates important national and international days, including Republic Day, Independence Day, Constitution Day, International Day of Democracy, World Environment Day, Children's Day, and International Women's Day. These celebrations serve as meaningful learning experiences that reinforce constitutional values, democratic citizenship, environmental responsibility, gender equality, and social inclusion.
Activities such as the public recitation of the Preamble to the Constitution of India, awareness rallies, cultural performances, debates, exhibitions, and community campaigns encourage children to translate constitutional ideals into everyday practice. Through these events, Vaan Muhil Trust nurtures responsible, confident, and socially conscious young citizens who are committed to the values of justice, liberty, equality, fraternity, and respect for diversity.
Development and Distribution of Educational Resources
Vaan Muhil Trust is committed to developing and disseminating good-quality learning resources that strengthen Constitutional Rights Education (CRE) across schools and communities. These resources make constitutional values engaging, accessible, and relevant for children, educators, and community facilitators.
As part of this initiative, the Trust has developed and published CRE Modules I and II in Tamil, Kannada, and Odia, along with the community learning module Vaandugal Payanam. To expand access to learning, CRE modules are distributed to schools, CRE Clubs, community facilitators, and partner organizations, with CRE Module I also available in a digital format.
To enhance learning experiences and increase public awareness of constitutional values, the programme produces a wide range of educational and promotional materials, including posters, stickers, standees, handouts, CRE Club kits, and beautifully crafted wooden-framed copies of the Preamble to the Constitution of India. These resources support interactive learning, encourage civic engagement, and help create learning environments that promote the principles and ideals of the Constitution.
Community Participation and Civic Engagement of Children in CRE Clubs
Promoting active citizenship is a defining feature of the Constitutional Rights Education (CRE) Programme, providing children with meaningful opportunities to experience democracy in action. Through the programme, CRE Club members actively participate in Gram Sabha meetings across village panchayats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, gaining first-hand experience of local governance and democratic processes.
Children are encouraged to identify issues affecting their communities, prepare petitions, submit memoranda, and engage constructively with elected representatives and government officials. These real-life civic experiences help them understand the functioning of democratic institutions, the importance of accountability, and the value of participatory decision-making.
By moving beyond classroom learning and engaging directly with local governance, children develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while gaining the confidence to become active contributors to their communities. Through these experiences, Vaan Muhil Trust nurtures informed, responsible, and socially conscious young citizens who are committed to upholding constitutional values and strengthening democracy at the grassroots level.
